These four New Englanders make a difference by changing lives, within the region and farther afield. At the holiday season, Yankee shares the stories of these people we call “angels among us.”

Annie Card of Peterborough, NH, helps victims of Hurricane Katrina. Jim “Catfish” Gillen of Providence, RI, plays music with recovering addicts. Cari Clement of Montpelier, VT, teaches African women to find economic independence. Nancy Schwoyer of West Gloucester, MA, provides affordable housing.
