2012 New England Icon Photo Contest Winner
One Tug in Portsmouth, New Hampshire by Lydia Williams
Judges Comments: This photo provides a different perspective on a classic icon in Portsmouth Harbor. The pop of the red tugboat pulls your eye to the different elements and colors of the scene like the greens of the dock, the water, tugboat hull and bridge.
Read on as Lydia tells us how she got the shot:
This hand held photo of one of three tugboats was taken in Portsmouth, NH. I slightly saturated the colors , cropped and used a free filter from Flicker by Jones of Shadowhouse Creations. That is about it. I enjoy photography and it became a hobby for me upon retirement. Most of my work is done gratis for our fire department, senior center, recreation department, retirements, non-profits, friends, etc. At 70, I am having a great time and still learning! I enjoy entering my photos to various competitions and contests.

Such a familiar sight for those of us that live in the Portsmouth area. The give away was seeing the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in the background. Love those tugs!!!
