An unexpected ice storm in December 2008 caused remarkable hardship for up to 14 days for thousands of New Englanders without power and heat. It also created great beauty as these user-submitted photos show.

    The photos are awesome and beautiful to see. My favorite are the blueberries hanging down and cased in ice. The monkey bars are very unique. Thanks for the photos. Even though the ice storm was a nightmare, it did bring some beauty to it.

    Right click and “set as background” should come up as an option. Left click on “set as background”. You can then check your monitor to find your new background.

    It amazes me how something so beautiful can be so destructive. Maybe the beauty is the “silver lining” in the cloud.
