I am 44 years old and have never considered someone an absolute hero until now. I just watched Mrs. Ward’s story on BYUTV. I was first intrigued by the work that she has been doing as I also have a history of abuse, the second level of interest began when Mrs. Ward spoke about her age when she returned to school and her reasoning (I am in my mid forties, I’m back in school working on my Associates in Criminal Justice, then I plan to do a double major in Social Work and Family Studies for my Bachelors Degree, with the overall goal of obtaining my Masters in Social Work, which will bring me to my ultimate goal of being a therapist for children & families who have escaped abuse). Then when she spoke of her personal experience and the drive she had to complete her degree sounded much like my own story. I really needed this today as I have been so close to wanting to give up. Thank you for sharing your history, I am truly grateful for many reasons. You are a lady I would love to meet.
