You Can Feel As Though You’re on Another Planet

A thick cloak of rime ice turns the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington into a surreal, blindingly white landscape. Once only intrepid mountaineers and hardy meteorologists could see this breathtaking, otherworldly vista. Now the Mount Washington Observatory invites visitors on guided winter trips to the summit via specially equipped vehicles.
