Yankee Magazine Named National City and Regional Magazine Awards Finalist in Two Categories
Dublin, New Hampshire (March 15, 2010)–Yankee Magazine is a 2010 National City and Regional Magazine Awards finalist in two categories: “Multimedia” and “Excellence in Writing.” Magazine professionals from around the country chose 142 finalists representing 38 publications in the 25-year-old National City and Regional Magazine Association’s awards competition. The awards for work completed in 2009 will be announced at the City and Regional Magazine Association’s (CRMA) 34th Annual Conference June 5-7 at the Westin Providence in Providence, Rhode Island.
“Being named a finalist means a lot. It means that judges from dozens of magazines, as well as the University of Missouri, pored over so many pieces of writing and so many examples of slide shows, videos, and podcasts and said that Yankee is among the best in the country,” said Mel Allen, editor of Yankee Magazine. “Our competitors for best writing are the perennial powerhouses of CRMA: Chicago Magazine, Philadelphia, Texas Monthly, Boston Magazine. We’re proud of this recognition.”
More than 75 judges representing publications such as Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, The American Prospect, Body+Soul, Sports Illustrated, Good Housekeeping, Glamour, Taste of Home, Men’s Journal, Budget Travel, The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon App
