I have copper bottomed Revere pots and pans. I love to shine them up with a sprinkling of salt and some lemon juice – the way my mother and grandmother did it years ago!
I like to clean single bud vases by swirling a little uncooked rice and some amonia and water around a few times to keep them clear.
It’s not necessary to buy expensive brass polish, just use ketchup on a damp sponge and buff with a rag.
I buy white vinegar by the gallon and use it once a week with baking soda and salt to clean drains before they clog. Just pour about l/4 cup of salt, cup of soda and cup of vinegar. Let sit and fizzle for awhile and wash it down with hot water.
White vinegar is the item I use to clean almost everything in my home. House always has a fresh smell after cleaning.
To keep your bathroom mirror from fogging up during a shower, rub a cucumber slice along the mirror. It will eliminate fog and provide a soothing fragrance as well. A hint passed onto me by my sister.
