As an artist who will continue in relative obscurity, to pursue my goal of being a good enough painter to have my peers say,"boffo painting", I thank you for your tribute to the obscure.
Since I've been blogging my paintings I have seen an astonishing array of incredible painters which is Intimidating to say the least, but I press on, knowing that each painting makes me better by doing it. :D

Mary, There is an audience for every painting. I hope some Yankee readers find their way to your Just Painting website. Thanks for checking in.

Thanks for the links. Mr. Waterman does some fascinating work! I'll have to go downstairs to Aucocisco to see it (I have a gallery in the same building).

Elliott, Is it Radiant Light Gallery? If not, send me a link. The Congress Building used to be full of artists' studios, but I'm under the impression that it is less so now, Ed

No - Radiant Light is now in New Hampshire. I just opened Portland Photo Works (portlandphotoworks.com). There are still many artists in the buildings, you can see a directory at www.stonecoastproperties.com. If you are around for a First Friday Artwalk, the building is a good place to see lots of art.

Reading about Carlo made me smile and tear up at the same time. I count myself among the lucky, having had the opportunity to have my portrait painted by him. Thank you for your commitment to the local artists who work just as hard in obscurity as those in the spotlight.

Yes, Nora-Nora, you were fortunate to have known Carlo, but I don't think daughters of Yankee bloggers are allowed to comment ;-). I suppose by virtue of attending UNH, however, you still qualify as a Yankee.
