Mud season is the only time of year that my husband really grumbles about living on a dirt road in Vermont. And this years mud season was a humdinger! Thankfully we didn't get stuck this year, but our neighbors were't so fotunate. Our mail carrier caught us tilling the garden to ask for a pull out of a mudhole. Another morning a friend sank in a different mudpit. We take turns driving each others kids to the local highschool (no highschool buses on dirt roads in this town) , and this was her morning to drive. She buried her van in a hole and broke the axle. Bad day. But the mud is drying up now, grass is growing, and my husband will soon be commenting about how fotunate we are to live in such a beautiful place.
