Absolutely Dunkin Donuts! This is truer for those forced to face winter away from New England. Happiness is the medium roast!

Great pick of Killarney in Ludlow, VT for a family restaurant.

I can't believe there are three ice cream stands in the world much less New England that are better than Kimball Farm in Jaffrey, NH.

The Brockton Cafe or George's Pizza in Brockton, MA, are the best in the world. We often have our friends in the area ship one or two pies by mail.

In Duxbury, Massachusetts, we have the following bests:
Ice cream: FarFars,
Family restaurant: The Milepost Restaurant and Tavern,
Seafood: Island Creek Oysters,
Seafood takeout: Snug Harbor Fish Market,
Bakery: French Memories,
Coffee shop: Uncommon Grounds,
Public beach: Duxbury Beach Park.
I may be a homer, but these places are great!

Polls like this are very misleading. I would like to know how many people actually replied to these surveys.. people that actually travel throughout New England would never pick Dunkin Donuts as their favorite spot, we have so many inns and hotels, and you only had two nominations in some categories? It's unfortunate that you single out certain businesses based on a "certain" number of readers who have the time to fill out these surveys, and meanwhile you missed the truly great places to vist, shop and dine through out New England.

Lake Seymour is very clean and with the mountain and fresh streams a great place to be. It has a public beach that is free with a great parking lot, a nice store on the lake and a great inn ,Seymour Lake Lodge that allows pets and free use of kayates , canoes to travel on the lake . It is the largest lake entirely in Vermont and great fishing and rates are so low 59.$ and up. I also think the rt 114 is the best in Vermont for scenery. I have to be careful driving at night because of moose and deer. Thank you for such a great article
