Maybe you can't spend the weekend at Downton Abbey, but you can spend it in a stately Vermont mansion with a marble vestibule and fireplaces in the bedrooms. On Saturday evening attend a comfortable dinner with a detailed explanation of table settings, etiquette history, and properly managing everything from soup to nuts. Gain a new appreciation for the downstairs staff by decanting through a silver funnel just like Carson's or serving the sauce, all in a dining room which has hosted elegant dinners since before the Titanic went down. Find a full breakfast laid out on the sideboard each morning, toast of course served in silver toast racks. Enjoy a proper full English afternoon tea. Optional activities we've seen the Crawleys enjoying include riding, fly fishing, crewel embroidery and cooking lessons (chocolate truffles). Join us for this informative weekend and you'll never hear Lady Mary say that you're not fastidious about doing things properly. Weekend rates start at $275 single or pp double.
