Join Director of Horticulture Heidi Karkoski for a tour of the King’s Garden from a designer’s perspective that includes insights on the garden’s current restoration and the continuous evolution of the plantings within its walls. This Colonial Revival-era garden was initially developed between 1910 and 1921 on the same ground cultivated by the Fort’s soldiers in the 18th century. Its unique design by one of the first and most accomplished female landscape architects in the United States, Marian Coffin, is one of the few surviving examples of her work. Tours begin at 1:00 pm near the Guest Services Desk in the Log House Welcome Center. Allow approximately two hours for this tour. Space is limited to 20 participants per tour, advanced reservations are recommended or tickets, as available, can be purchased on the day of the tour at the Guest Services Desk in the Log House Welcome Center. Price is $35 per person plus cost of general admission.
