La Couleur Du Vent: an international exhibit of design bindings

Event Details

La Couleur Du Vent (The Color of the Wind) showcases the remarkable book binding skills of 51 French, Canadian and American artists, all graduates of l’Ecole Estienne in Paris and/or members of Les Amis de la Reliure d'Art du Canada (Friends of the Art of Bookbinding of Canada). Although the printed content of all 51 books in the exhibit is exactly the same (called a “set book”), each binding is crafted with the unique materials and methods that reflect the maker’s skills and artistic interpretation. North Bennet Street School, which offers training programs and workshops in bookbinding, is the fourth stop of the show’s international touring schedule. The exhibit originated in Paris, then traveled to Quebec City, Montreal and Trois-Rivières, Quebec before arriving this month in Boston.
