Homemade breads make a delightful way of sharing breads that you cannot get in the stores.....They are generally healthy and make excellant sides with dinner or for breakfast and lunch. They are pretty to look at.

I make cardamon bread wreaths frosted with a simple glaze of confectioners sugar and milk and decorated with red and green cherries. They turn out beautifully and are always welcome.

I make a lot of gift baskets for Christmas gifts, loading them up with homemade jams, jellies, fruit butters, candies & a variety of tea breads. This is one of my favorite recipes for Banana Bread, it uses NO FLAVORING & yet is SO INCREDIBLY FLAVORFUL, the secret is bananas that are almost rotten...let the skins turn black. I have used all purpose flour with no problem. Have a wonderful holiday all! Shawn Banana Bread
2 cups granulated sugar 1 cup margarine 6 very ripe bananas, mashed 4 eggs beaten well
2 1/2 cups cake flour 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking soda
Cream sugar and margarine. Add bananas and eggs. Sift flour, salt and baking soda three times. Blend flour mixture into banana mixture. Do not overmix. Turn batter into 2 greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pans.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake bread for 55 minutes, or until toothpick tests dry in center of loaf. Turn out immediately to cool on wire rack.

I always enjoy a gift of a variety of cookies, ones that I never make. I have enjoyed making a variety of cookies to share for office parties, etc. They were always looked forward to especially at holiday times.

I like to make hot sweet pickles for everyone. I always get the jars back for a refill.

I usually give Zucchini Bread with Orange-Ginger Butter. It pairs well with a cup of coffee.
