Hello all,

I'm trying to track down a copy of the article in the title of this post which I believe appeared in "Yankee" quite a while ago. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

I'd like to read it as part of some research for a book. I live in "Old England" and would happily return the favour if anyone needs a copy of anything over here.

Kind Rgds

I am looking for an article whose title is (I believe) "the day the horses fell through the ice" It is about a team of horses that are rescued after falling through the ice. Some initial research says that it appeared in a 1979 Yankee magazine and the location was Vermont.

Randy checked his and his parents issues from Feb, Mar, May, Nov Dec 1979 and it is not in any of those issues. Hopefully someone has it.

I used to read it to my kids at a camp we rented in No. New Portland, ME in the early 80's and would dearly love to find the article to give to my adult children.

Thanks so much

Help! - I am looking for a lost recipe called farmhouse foldovers that may have been in 1992 or 1993 issues, perhaps a summer volume. The recipe required raspberry jam, yeast, butter, nutmeg and sugar and was cooked as a folded over cookie with the jam inside. The cookie dough balls were rolled in the nutmeg and sugar mix prior to filling. NOBODY seems to know anything about this recipe . I would be so grateful to find it. It was a well-written, brutally honest article. I have been trying to locate this article ever since--with no success. Does anyone out there have the past year's issues? No libraries in my area carry Yankee Magazine. All I know is that the article was listed on the front cover, but the title did not have the word anorexia in it (maybe something about eating disorder--I can't remember!), and I think it was an issue from the past year. Thanks for any help anybody can send!

Dear Readers:
I am not sure which back issue my recipe was in as we have had fire and of course, my favorite recipe was lost.
It was about a daughter watching her grandmother baking an "apple pie" and the grandmother said they always called a "flat apple p ie" which was baked on a baking sheet then cut into squares.
I would guess the issue was around the year 2000(+ -). I sure hope this rings a bell to some of you readers.
Appreciate any help you can give. Please send it to my e-mail address which is above.
Thank you again for whatever help you can give.
The grandfather instilled a love for education in the boy who would go on to recieve a scholar ship from a prestigious University (Ivy League?). He returned home with his diploma to show his Grandfather, but was too late, as the Grandfather had passed away. The Indian boy went on to a career at a Wall Street Bank and married and raised children of his own, children who would never know the poverty thier father indured... This is the way I remember the article it appeared about 3-4 years ogo (I am guessing) and was a true story.

While reading and article about John Lomas, the founder of Cotswold furniture, I ran across a reference to a list that Yankee Magazine put together called America's 100 Best Craftsmen. I can't seem to locate it and wondered if any body knew what issue this was in? Or perhaps someone has a copy that can be faxed or mailed.

I am looking for the February 1967 issue of Yankee. There is an article in this issue about my family castle at Wakefield, Massachusetts. If anyone knows where I can find this particular issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Hi Everyone,
I'm a CT Yankee displaced in SC at the moment I am looking for the smaller issues of Yankee (not the current large issues). If anyone would like to get rid of some back issues, I would love to have them to read. I am living in the South now and missing my New England. Reading Yankee keeps me grounded to my Yankee Roots!

I am looking for an English Muffin recipe that was published in the Yankee Magazine between the years 1975 - 1980. This reciple, I believe, was a recipe used by a president's wife and bore her name in the recipe. This recipe is an excellent recipe and I would really appreciate it if anybody has it and would be willing to share.

The name associated with the article that I read was Boobier, it was maybe twenty years or so ago. The article was telling of neighbors that lived outside the town in the side of a hill, not a cave but an earthen home. It was really interesting to me. I've been trying to locate the article for a number of years.
