Anna Quindlen: May 23, 2012
On Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 pm, Anna Quindlen, the #1 New York Times bestselling author, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of A Short Guide to a Happy Life, joins Writers on a New England Stage to share her candid, funny book exploring what really matters to women - marriage, girlfriends, kids, your mother, faith, possessions, solitude, and more. Following on her original New York Times column, "Life in the 30s," and her much-loved books, Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake is Quindlen at her best - talking to you directly, even as she reports and reflects on her own life. In this boundless and refreshing new work she looks at life from the perspective of a woman in her 50s - heartfelt, insightful, and wise - and says for us what we wish we could have said ourselves.
The presentation will be followed by an interview. Live music will be performed by the award-winning house band Dreadnaught. The live shows are rebroadcast on New Hampshire Public Radio.
Writers on a New England Stage was created by executive producer Patricia Lynch, also executive director of The Music Hall, and is presented in partnership with New Hampshire Public Radio and in collaboration with Yankee Magazine and Portsmouth's independent RiverRun Bookstore.
