More Sealife Centers
Our corner of the country boasts two nationally recognized sealife centers: New England Aquarium in Boston and Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. But don't overlook our many smaller, regional venues, with convenient parking and lower admission prices, offering education and family fun closer to home. (Be sure to call ahead for winter hours.) Here's a sampling.

For a spectacular marine science-focused "Educational Vacation" for the entire family, consider an overnight trip to the Shoals Marine Laboratory on Appledore Island, Isles of Shoals (accessible from Portsmouth, NH--only one hour north of Boston). Family programs specializing in all types of ocean critters offered in August of each year: webpage: https://www.sml.cornell.edu/smlpublicedkid.html email: shoals-lab-east@cornell.edu phone: 603-430-5220
