Restaurant Reviews: Spring Selections
Summer Winter and Foxwoods MGM Grand
by Annie B. Copps
Mark and Clark (Gaier and Frasier, respectively) -- the affable and elegant grow-it-yourself restaurateurs from Arrows and MC Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine -- have opened Summer Winter at the Burlington (MA) Marriott. Early reports indicate that they haven't quite found their rhythm in what must be such odd environs for them. Timing and service need attention, and cuisine and theme seem undecided: Tapas? Steakhouse? Local produce? Raw bar? Yet even as snow was piling up this past winter and cars rushed by on Route 95 just yards away, fresh herbs were thriving in their greenhouse. Given that, we're optimistic, as we know what these dedicated culinary artists are capable of.

Coming Right Up
Connecticut's Foxwoods gaming resort is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar buff-and-polish with the addition of the MGM Grand, opening in May. The best bet may be the menus. Look for "Top Chef" TV host Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak and Boston kitchen magician Michael Schlow's Alta Strada.
