Ghosts on Glass
Several pieces (4x5, 5x7, and 8x10 inches)
of picture glass from glass store
Contact paper
Pencil
Artist's knife
Stencil paintbrush
Etching cream from crafts store
Copper tape from stained-glass store
Cut piece of contact paper the same size as the glass. Peel backing off paper and stick to glass. With a pencil, draw the image of a ghost or a spiderweb on the paper. Cut out the image using an artist's knife (remove the contact paper from the area you want to etch). With the stencil brush, dab generous amounts of etching cream onto the cutout area of the ghost; let dry completely. Wash off with cold water and remove remaining contact paper. Edge glass with copper tape to create a framelike finish. Display on a mantel or shelf.
