Pack Monadnock: A Hike Becomes a Friend
By Debbie Despres
Administrative Assistant to the President, Yankee Publishing
The beauty of Pack Monadnock in Peterborough's Miller State Park for me is that I can make the round-trip hike in about an hour, and know that I got in a great workout for the day. The beauty of a fall hike up Pack Monadnock is all that you would expect: ever-changing views as the leaves color up and then fall away, and no bugs! Even walking up and down the auto road, as opposed to the forested trail, is enjoyable. It's a hike I get to several times a month from spring to fall, and with the constantly changing seasons it doesn't get old, just more familiar.
