This is beautiful, living in SC, where it is 70 degrees today, makes me long for snow and the sense of history that is present in these lovely towns.

Comment from gail laird on December 13, 2008

Absolutely beautiful. I love Vermont and miss it very much. Thanks for the lovely trip back there.

Comment from Jeanne Tiedemann on December 16, 2008

Just absolutely beautiful. I miss New England which I think is the most beautiful place to be especially in the winter and Christmas time. Makes me so homesick. Thanks for the memories.

Comment from Lucia Jewell on December 16, 2008

I now live in SC - where the temps are in 70's this week - but my heart will always be in New England - especially Connecticut. The history and beauty of the towns - with all the wonderful historic homes and buildings that have been preserved/restored - have no equal!

Comment from Barbara Kroger on December 16, 2008

I now live in Colorado, which is beautiful, but I miss the New England Christmases, which I always think of when I think of Christmas. Thanks for a trip back to Vermont.

Comment from Bill Shepard on December 16, 2008

I was born in Springfield, Vermont, and raised in Charlestown, N.H. I've lived in Texas for many years, but still miss the New England Christmases. Its been many years since I've had a white Christmas. I would love to be there for that.

Comment from Marjorie D'Annunzio on December 16, 2008

I,ve spent a lot of time in Vermont as I have family there. I love it in the winter and the summer. I would live there if I could. I live in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia Pennsyvania and when it snows here the roads and the people attempting to drive on them is a nightmare. Not so in Vermont. It's not only beautiful, it's safer

Comment from Virginia Snow on December 16, 2008

Thank you. That is beautiful. It reminds me of the innocence and hope and warmth of heart and family of Christmases of the past. I miss it very much. There definitely is not enough snow in Newport, Rhode Island these days. You just took me on a heart warming vacation which I would like to visit again and again. Love you all for maintaining such a great publication.

Used to have a cabin up at Joe's Pond near Walden, VT. No place in the U.S. of A like the northeast kingdom any time of year, but especially during the Christmas season.

Comment from Stacy McCarty on December 16, 2008

This was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you Yankee for this musical picture card of VT! My husband and I watched it together and sighed alot. : )

Comment from sue chancellor on December 16, 2008

There"s nothing that compares to Christmas in New England ! Just ask anyone who has ever been fortunate enough to live there. Thanks Yankee for a Great Magazine. Very homesick from North Carolina....

Comment from Lynn Perno on December 16, 2008

Thank you for the memories. New England and Connecticut will always hold a warm place in my heart. Thank for letting me go home for awhile.

Comment from Marie McGarrell on December 17, 2008

Lovely! The slides bring back many fond memories of many white Christmases in Connecticut, where I grew up.I now reside in Chareston, South Carolina where palm trees are decorated with lights for the holidays. Thanks so much for bringing these beautiful scenes to all of your New England readers far from home. " There's no place like home."

Comment from Theresa Diaz on December 17, 2008

Beautiful pictures. Puts me right in the mood for Christmas.

Comment from Jamie Trowbridge on December 17, 2008

I'm the president of Yankee Magazine, and I want to let you know how much I appreciate all your comments. It's wonderful that so many people maintain a love for and connection to New England, even when they live far away.

Comment from Nancy Ridgeway on December 17, 2008

These lovely pictures took me back to my growing up years in Bennington, Vermont. Thanks for the memories.

Comment from Bonnie Watters on December 31, 2008

On behalf of residents of Chester we want to thank Lisa Sacco, photographer, and writer Christina Tree for their wonderful work in capturing our town. We use a phrase here: "Chester, the Vermont you have been hoping to find." You certain captured it. Again, Thank You, and to all the loyal Yankee readers who responded to our story. It has been especially welcome in these hard times for our local businesses who depend on tourism and recreation.

Comment from Sandra Walch on January 1, 2009

Now I know why my husbands' 3 sisters, their families, and now our oldest son, reside in New England! How beautiful!

Comment from Frank Augusta on January 8, 2009

You can take the boy out of New England but you can't take New England out of the boy. Born in New England now living in Southern California. This boy is now 71 years young. I still miss New England and visit it often. Yankee Magazine certainly helps fill the voids.
