The Starting Gate
The former starting gate of the Barrington Fair, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Incorporated in 1848 as an agricultural fair, horseracing was added in 1859. The Barrington Fair continued operations until 1983. Many of the building were heavily damaged the the devastating tornado that struck the town in 1995. It was subsequently rebuilt, and horse racing resumed in 1997, but continued for just a year. (source: Wikipedia)
