Winter at Captain Pollard's Flintlock Farm
This 1782 Georgian "mansion house" is located in the hamlet of Still River within the Town of Harvard, Massachusetts. The site has been nominated for the National Trust due to the following 5 aspects; notable residents (Minuteman / Patriot owner, first scientific farmer in the area, an electrical inventor at the dawn of electrical devices 1900), historic event (a Shaker was whipped on site during the Shaker's establishment of the 1st Shaker colony), Georgian architecture, the "historic fabric: that still exists within the house, and 1 "historic object" (the 3rd oldest Sycamore in the state (The Whipping Tree - where the Shaker was whipped).
