Yield: 4 dozen
From the Inn at Jackson, Jackson, NH.Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tablespoon molasses
1 cup flour
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup flaked almonds
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup boiling water
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix butter, sugar, and molasses until creamy. Stir in flour, rolled oats, and almonds. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and add to mixture. Mix dough until stiff. Roll teaspoons of dough into balls and place on greased pan allowing room to spread. Flatten cookies and decorate tops with almond flakes.
