Yield: 12 -20 servings
My aunt Mary's traditional Slovak Halupki's made annually for the church picnic. My aunt has passed on, but the recipe lives on!Ingredients:
1 head cabbage1 cup rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 medium onion
2-3 garlic cloves
1 pound hamburg
1 egg
1 can Contadina tomato sauce
1 can water
Instructions:
Steam cabbage, until the leaves pull away. Place in refrigerator for an hour or so to cool. Don't forget to "core" the cabbage, makes it a whole lot easier to pull leaves. Cook rice in chicken broth.
