B-B-Q'd sausage balls
- Barbecued Sausage Balls
- 1 pound of bulk sausage
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup of fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon of sage
- 1/2 cup of ketchup
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- Scant tablespoon of soy sauce
Combine sausage, egg, bread crumbs and sage. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Brown slowly in un-greased skillet. Combine remaining ingredients and add to
skillet. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot. They
also freeze well. Sausage balls may be browned in 300ºF. Oven on a cookie
sheet, turning occasionally.
