Bedford Cookies

by
Wickedly rich and almost irresistible to those who like sweets.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, or pecans are good)

Instructions:

Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, vanilla, and flour. Mix in the nuts and form into balls the size of a walnut. Press flat with a fork and bake the cookies for 10 to 15 minutes in a 350 degree F oven. Remove from oven, and while still hot shake the cookies in a bag of powdered sugar.

This is a simple recipe that is really good! These go fantastic with a cup of tea or coffee, but you have to be careful with them or they will explode in a cloud of powdered sugar and depending on your company, can either be really funny or really embarrassing!
