Spooned generously over rich cake or ice cream, this makes a simple but irresistible finish to any meal.
1 quart ripe berries
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
3 to 5 tablespoons superfine granulated sugar
Place 1 cup berries in a blender and puree. Gradually add extract and sugar to taste. Blend only until puree is the consistency of thick cream. Pour puree over the remaining berries. Mix gently. Chill several hours before serving.
