Yield: Makes 12-14.

Moist, with a cake-like texture. Serve plain, frosted, or topped with ice cream.

Ingredients:

  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions:

Melt chocolate and butter over hot water. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together. Beat eggs well and gradually beat in sugar. Add chocolate mixture and vanilla to eggs, mixing well, and add flour mixture and nuts. Spread in a greased 8-inch-square pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F do not overbake).
Cool and cut into small squares.
