A luxurious dish for a fancy gathering. --The Four Chimney’s Inn, Nanatucket, Massachusetts

Ingredients:

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, very soft
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt
  • White pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 to 2 spoonfuls each of red and black caviar

Instructions:

Combine all but last 2 ingredients and mix well. Line a bowl with plastic wrap and pack mixture firmly into bowl. Chill overnight. Then unmold onto a plate, frost with sour cream, and decorate with caviar. Serve with party rye.
