Easy Christmas Pickles

Ingredients:2/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large dill pickles
1/2 cup drained canned pimientos
1/4 cup mustard seeds
2 tablespoons whole cloves
1 tablespoon celery seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
Instructions:Heat vinegar, water, and sugar to boiling. Pour into a sterilized glass jar.
Slice pickles crosswise. Slice pimientos. Add to vinegar mixture, along with remaining ingredients (leaving headspace), and seal. Let cool; then refrigerate.
Let stand 1 week before serving.
