American Chop Suey
Pasta Recipes
Yield: Makes 6 servings.
- 8 ounces ziti or elbow pasta
- 2 cups lean ground beef
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup celery
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 15 ounces spaghetti sauce
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 ounces mozzarella
Cook pasta for 5 minutes, drain. Saute beef and onions in oil. Add celery, mushrooms and garlic and cook 3 minutes. Add sauce and seasonings and mix with pasta. Pour into greased 13x9 baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.
