Bev's Pickle Relish

I got this recipe from my sister Bev and I want to share her yummy pickle relish with others.
- 3 quarts ground cucumbers
- 3 or 4 large onions, ground
- 2 tablespoons canning salt
- 3 peppers, red or green, I prefer red ones
- 3 cups dark vinegar
- 1 teaspoon alum
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons celery seed
- 1-1/2 teaspoons mustard seed
- 1-1/2 teaspoons tumeric
Mix together cucumbers, onions, peppers, and canning salt. Let stand for 1 hour. Drain and squeeze out excess juice. Add remaining ingredients, cook for about 20 minutes and then seal in jars, in pressure cooker, bring up to 5 pounds and shut off heat.
