Yield: 3 dozen cookies
My daughters love these soft, mild flavored cookies.
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (or margarine), plus extra for cookie sheet
- 1 egg
- 2 squares (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup Hood sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend sugar and butter (or margarine) until fluffy. Add egg. Add melted chocolate, vanilla, and sour cream. Blend until creamy, and set aside. Sift baking soda and salt into flour. Slowly add flour mixture to sour-cream mixture and blend. Add in nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes. Let cool a couple of minutes; then remove from the cookie sheet to a wire rack.
