Cookies and Bars Recipes

Yield: 2 dozen

This recipe came from my aunt. They have always been my favorite cookie.

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups uncooked oatmeal
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Gently boil 5 minutes (no more or less), milk, sugar and butter. Remove from heat.

To the boiled mixture add: oats, coconut, cocoa, vanilla and nuts. Stir well until the mixture thickens.

Drop by teaspoons (it will be sticky) onto wax paper to set up.

DO NOT BAKE.

These may be stored in layers separated by wax paper. They will last for months when frozen.
