Great-Grandmother’s Banana Bread

Yield: 1 loaf

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 bananas, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream, bananas, and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda, and add to egg mixture; mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 55 minutes, or until loaf tests done.
