Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding

Yield: Serves 6.
Don't confuse this with any other rice pudding you ever had. This old English recipe is rich and luscious, and every-one in your family will love it.
- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup uncooked brown rice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Mix all the ingredients together and put in a casserole. Bake, uncovered, for 3 hours in a 300 degrees F oven.
During the first hour, stir the pudding every 20 minutes.
Serve with a lacing of cream.
