Yield: 3 dozen
I love the flavor of something 'different' in these traditional sugar cookies!
- 6 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 cup sweet cream butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Beat together sour cream, sugar, butter and salt. Add egg, then vanilla.
Sift flour and baking soda. Stir together. Gradually add flour mixture to the butter mixture.
Cover dough with wax paper and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Scoop dough using a 1-ounce ice cream scoop. Space about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from pan immediately and place on cooling rack. Allow to cool completely. Frost if desired.
