  • 2/3 cup soft margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine into pasty substance margarine, egg, and sugar. In a separate bowl, blend flour, salt, nutmeg, and baking powder. By hand blend dry ingredients into wet ingredients until well mixed, adding milk by thirds. Spoon batter into greased muffin tins. Bake 15 minutes.



  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted


To prepare the topping, combine sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. Remove muffins, dip in butter and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Serve while still warm.
