Yield: Serves 6-8.

A sweet, hearty, high-protein dish that goes well with cold cuts, rolls, and salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound hamburger
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3-1/2 cups homemade baked beans, or 1 large can (1 pound, 13 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup catsup 3 tablespoons brown sugar (or less to taste)
  • 3/4 cup applesauce 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

Brown hamburger and onion in butter. Combine with remaining ingredients in large casserole dish. Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes.
