Yield: Makes 2-1/2 dozen.
Try these freshly made with your morning coffee. A great way to start the day.Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour1/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mace
1/4 cup corn oil
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and mace together, then add the oil, milk and beaten egg. Stir with a fork until thoroughly mixed.
Drop by teaspoonsful into deep hot oil or fat at 375 degrees F. Fry until golden brown -- about 3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Roll the warm puffs in sugar.
