  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. To prepare the crust, cream butter and brown sugar together. Add flour and combine thoroughly. Spread mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch-square baking pan. Bake 20 minutes.

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

To prepare the filling, place pecans in a food processor and process with short pulses until finely chopped, then set aside. Process eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until evenly combined.
