Cut the chocolate into chunks, combine with other ingredients in a heavy pot, and heat over very low heat. Do not allow to boil, or the chocolate will separate. Stir well and simmer gently about 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Serve over ice cream, fruits (pears or berries are good), cake, or brownies. Keeps well in the refrigerator or freezer.
