Chives or dill perks up this chowder.

Ingredients:

1/4 pound salt pork, diced
1 onion, peeled and chopped
2 to 3 potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 cup corn
1 quart scalded milk
1 tablespoon chopped chives or dill
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons butter
6 soda crackers

Fry salt pork in soup kettle until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside. Saut
