  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup pumpkin, canned
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts


Combine nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, eggs, salt, and oil and beat well into a creamy consistency. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix together. Pour into a greased and floured 12-cup Bundt pan. Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for about 45 minutes -- until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not overcook.

    This is my tried and true pumpkin bread recipe … EXCEPT … I split the batter equally between 3 1-pound coffee cans or bread pans..bake at 350 degrees for about one hour … absolutely the best!
