Yield: Makes about 3-4 dozen.

Elegant when made with a cookie press, but just as tasty shaped into balls. Perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons almond extract (or vanilla extract, if desired)

Instructions:

Cream butter and sugar until well mixed. Add unbeaten egg and mix thoroughly. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix well. Stir in almond extract. Fill a cookie press with the dough. Form the cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
