Yield: Serves 6.

The colorful combination of red and green cabbage, plus the piquant flavor of horseradish makes this an exceptional salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head green cabbage
  • 1/2 head red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons salad oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

Shred cabbages thinly. Place in large bowl. In a quart jar, combine remaining ingredients and shake well. Pour over cabbage and toss to mix well. Cover bowl and let stand several hours so the flavors will blend.
