It’s easy to while away a few hours on Bowdoin’s in-town campus: The Bowdoin College Museum of Art, an architectural gem, exhibits an impressive collection of works; the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum shows the natural and cultural diversity of the Far North; the Pickard Theater is home to the Maine State Music Festival; and the Bowdoin International Music Festival performs at various campus venues.

Best Reason To Go Back To School
Two stellar museums, the Museum of Art and the Peary-MacMillan Museum, are free; some of the concerts, lectures, and demonstrations presented on campus by the topnotch Bowdoin International Music Festival are free or by donation, and the Maine State Music Theatre often offers pay-what-you-can rush tickets for Friday performances.
