Guarding the east side of Lake Champlain, this Revolutionary-era fort was once the largest military structure in North America. Now hiking paths and displays bring alive the life of the ordinary fighting man.

Thanks to computer wizardry, the story of one of America’s best preserved Revolutionary war sites is now told by an interactive sculpture of British and American soldiers. Exhibits and six miles of color-coded walking trails explore the fort, armaments and military importance of this strategic overlook on Lake Champlain, where thousands of troops suffered incredible hardships.
