Southwest Harbor, ME 04679
Here’s an anomaly: a classy, white-tablecloth restaurant that shuns pretension. Expect fine local, organic ingredients (when available) and a good selection of very local seafood, along with vegetarian options that don’t leave non-carnivores feeling like second-class citizens. The house-baked bread is a wonderful way to start, and the homemade desserts flirt with heaven. And in between? Try the salmon baked in parchment with artichoke hearts, tomato, and leeks, or the maple-glazed back ribs. It’s easily worth the side trip from Bar Harbor.
